Phew, beginning to get back to normal after the huge buzz of following the first few days of Lotusphere.  First a small update - I'm still waiting for some more concrete Quickr 8.1 details to be able to blog about.  I need to get hold of the slides from the 'Sphere in order to see what went public so that I can blog about it.  Definitely more to come very soon.

In the meantime, so more education news:

1) IBM is already touting some in depth Quickr 8.1 training courses for later in the year:

I am sure there will be more news on the Education website when dates get announced.  I will, of course, make sure they are listed here too.

2) There are some IBM Quickr workshops coming up fairly soon which are free-of-charge!  There I thought that would get your attention!

Do you have teams of people who work jointly on projects and need a better way to organize and share information beyond what e-mail offers? Do you need to build on the software and systems that are installed to add effective and easy-to-use collaboration capabilities? Do your end-users need to easily store and organize content such as documents, videos and media files, with the capability to authorize others to access, helping to dramatically reduce e-mail overload?

This workshop helps you gain the technical skills to solve these concerns using IBM Lotus Quickr. It is a new Web 2.0-based collaborative content offering designed to transform the way everyday business content such as documents and rich media is shared and to enable more effective team collaboration. You will use the included connectors that integrate with popular desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes to help businesses manage information in a security-rich environment. We will cover Lotus Quickr services for Lotus Domino, which use similar concepts but a different user inteface than the Lotus Quickr services for WebSphere Portal.

The intended audience is IBM Business Partners, but customers will be accommodated on a space available basis. Attendees can participate in the IBM Workplace Business Solutions Catalog entry offering and be eligible for no charge technical support for 90 days.

This workshop is offered in multiple formats: traditional classroom, virtual and self-paced. All are no charge and cover the same content.

Dates announced so far are:

04 Mar 2008 - 06 Mar 2008, Bangalore, India
11 Mar 2008 - 13 Mar 2008, Virtual workshops
26 Mar 2008 - 28 Mar 2008, Paris, France
21 Apr 2008 - 23 Apr 2008, Barcelona, Spain
For more details on these workshops, and to register, here is the link.

That's all for now, hopefully more to come very soon...
