The problem of how to add access to Lotus Quickr places to the Notes8 client came up on the IBM BP Techtalk call today, and I am grateful that Deb Kamienski of IBM (Senior IT Specialist, Workplace, Portal and Collaboration Software) offered to forward the instructions through so that they could be posted to the community.

Here we go:

Update

Well, this is kind of frustrating... It seems as though this feature is still IBM Internal only and in the hustle and bustle of the conference call we made a mistake:

"I am sorry but I just found out those instructions are currently for IBM internal only.  They plan to have it available to the partners and Notes8.0.1 beta customers in October, but it is not ready for release yet.

Therefore, I need you to take the instructions off the blog since that is open to the public.

Sorry again for the confusion and I will keep you posted if I hear it getting released earlier."

I will of course update this post as and when this become available....  In the meantime, I am going to learn from my father's advice regarding DIY, and adopt the motto "Check twice, Blog Once".  Sorry again for the confusion ;-)

I'm guessing that as it says 'TAP or development' the URL's would be IBM internal only....

Of course, you are all right. I should have checked this out in more detail before I posted.

However, I am working closely with Deb to see if we can sort out a download location that is open to partners and/or customers. I'll you know whether we get anywhere...

Sorry for the false hope.

Stuart,

Thanks for the effort.

Honestly, too bad this wasn't made available at GA of 8, since you can actually install the connector into the client.

7) Update?

Is there an update for this now? Since 8.5 is out I'm assuming this is available?
