A super new Lotus Quickr (Domino) resource released this week:
Lotus Quickr 8.1 services for Lotus Domino performance tuning guideLink: Lotus Quickr 8.1 services for Lotus Domino performance tuning guide
Abstract
This paper provides application tuning for IBM Lotus Quickr V8.1 services for Lotus Domino. Both the tuning and capacity are affected by many factors, including the workload scenario and the performance measurement environment. For tuning, the objective of this paper is not to recommend that you use the values we used when measuring our scenarios, but to make you aware of those parameters used in our configuration. When tuning your individual systems, it is important to begin with a baseline, monitor the performance metrics to determine if any parameters should be changed and, when a change is made, monitor the performance metrics to determine the effectiveness of the change.

Hi Stuart
I took at look at that guide over the weekend and I honestly wouldn't risk giving it to customers. There are some recommendations that are downright stupid (like suggesting you only have HTTP running as a server task and nothing else ). I'd also be very wary of the networking performance tuning at OS level unless you have a specific problem that you have narrowed down to the OS network layer. They don't even mention that having multiple rooms in a place means multiple databases which is critical to know when designing your infrastructure.
Some decent stuff in there but my biggest issue is that there are some very broadband recommendations that I wouldn't repeat without knowing more of the customer environment.
Thanks for your advice, Gab - I must say I'd just perused it before posting here - I wish I'd taken a little longer to check the content. Cheers...
